Material Overview

PETG plastic is a glycol-modified copolyester material widely used in 3D printing for its excellent balance of strength, toughness, and ease of processing. It offers high impact resistance, good flexibility, and strong interlayer adhesion, making printed parts durable and reliable.

The material is resistant to moisture, chemicals, and UV exposure, which makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. PETG also provides a smooth, slightly glossy surface finish and is less brittle than PLA, while being significantly easier to print than materials like ABS.

Due to its low warping behavior and consistent extrusion, PETG is ideal for functional parts such as mechanical components, protective housings, brackets, and containers that require strength and durability.

Recommended Print Settings

Baseline values for standard 0.4mm nozzles. Easy to print on almost any desktop 3D printer.

NOZZLE SIZE 0.4 mm
NOZZLE TEMP 230°C - 250°C
BED TEMP 75°C - 85°C
PRINT SPEED 30 - 60 mm/s
COOLING FAN 20% - 50% (after first layers)
RETRACT (DIRECT) 0.8 - 1.5 mm
RETRACT (BOWDEN) 3 - 6 mm
RETRACT SPEED 20 - 40 mm/s
FACTORY PRO TIP
PETG tends to produce more stringing compared to PLA, so fine-tuning retraction settings and avoiding excessive cooling will help achieve the best surface quality.
